Eyelash Extensions FAQ

What is the difference between NovaLash and other Brands?

Simply put, the adhesive.

For the creme de la creme in Eyelash Extensions, NovaLash is where it’s at! NovaLash has developed Platinum Bond Adhesive, an award winning physician formulated, medical-grade adhesive that lasts up to four times longer than competing brands. Platinum Bond by Novalash is the most durable lash extension adhesive available, rubber toughened, extra flexible, extra strength bond, highly resistant to heat and friction, physician approved, medical grade, highly waterproof and OIL RESISTANT, Touch ups required at 4 weeks.

How are they applied and how long does it take?

The lash extensions are adhered to your natural lashes individually, using a medical grade adhesive, resulting in a totally natural look. A full set would average an application of between 60-90 lashes. For a complete application, it takes 1.5-2 hours. After four weeks, a touch up will take an hour.

How long do they really last?

When applied properly,  lash extensions can be worn throughout the year with minimal monthly maintenance. The lashes last the life span of your natural lash, approximately 90 days. When the natural lash is shed, the extension will be released with it.

To maintain the full, thick appearance of a new set of NovaLash Eyelash Extensions, Touch-ups are recommended after the initial full set application every 4 weeks.

How come my eyelash extensions are coming off?

Naturally, you may lose up to 10 lashes a day, which is NORMAL. Keep in mind they do grow back. If the extensions are falling off without your natural lash, it could be due to some makeup removers and mascaras. Rubbing, pulling and playing with lashes also encourage lash loss. Refrain from unnecessary touching of your eyelash extensions.

Do eyelash extensions harm your natural eyelashes?

No. Each extension is applied on a single natural lash. This proven method is the most advanced in lash technology. This protects other lashes from adhering to one another, thus eliminating the pull and tug factor. However, if there is any irritation, please contact me directly.

Can I wear mascara with my eyelash extensions?

Yes, although you don’t need to.  Mascara specially formulated for eyelash extensions is recommended if you choose to wear it. Clumping, extending or waterproof mascara is to be avoided as it is hard to clean your new extensions properly and will cause irritation.

Are eyelash extensions safe for use with contacts?

Yes. Eyelash extensions are safe for use with contacts. The bonding agent is an odorless non-toxic adhesive that will not burn the eyes and is great for use by those who wear contacts. However, for application, contacts may need to be removed. This will be at your discretion.

Can I get my eyelash extensions wet?

Yes. The adhesive is waterproof and durable and it is safe to go in the shower, swimming, and even white water rafting.

Can anyone have this service done?

There are no contra indications noted using glues that contain cyanoacrylates (type of adhesive). Cyanoacrylates are currently used in the medical field for different procedures, especially found in plastic surgery. Health Canada has tested and proved that this ingredient is safe to be used around the eye area. In some case studies, people who have shown signs of intolerance were mostly women who suffer from seasonal allergies.

Those with folliculite (alopecia, cancer, post-partum and mononucleoses) do not qualify for eyelash extensions, however please contact us for further options.
